Können Kirchen „buchbare Produkte“ sein?
Can Churches Be „Products to Be Booked“? Aspects of the Term ‘Quality’ in the Churches Involvement in Tourism. When tourism agencies like to refer to church tourism activities as a “product to be booked” this typically produces irritations within the church. The author gives a critique of other recent articles in this journal about the understanding of ‘quality’. He shows how an adequate understanding of the quality of products can indeed be employed to describe what is offered “open churches”, protestant pilgrimages and different kinds of church-managed guided tours to tourists involves. A cooperation and mutual understanding of quality between churches and the tourism business is possible in spite of their differing goals.
