Gruppenanalytische Praxis heute: relationale und intersubjektive Perspektiven
Group-Analytic Practice Today: Relational and Intersubjective Perspectives Characteristics, problems but also chances of out-patient analytic group-therapy are discussed. The author emphasizes how group-therapy can give a specific answer to problems of today´s patients in the areas of attachment, capacity for loving relationships, self-esteem and quest for meaning. Contemporary intersubjective-relational theories take these issues into special consideration and constitute an essential extension of psychoanalytic theory. The intersubjective paradigm takes on a bridging function between the diverse schools of thought in psychoanalysis and is very apt to be linked with common group analytic theorizing especially in the vein of Foulkes: It shows the constitution of a dynamic intersubjective field that is marked by both patient(s) and analyst furthering the repetition of pathogenic experiences and enabling the overcoming of those by the transforming experience of new objects. Central tenets of this theory are discussed and illustrated by case vignettes from analytic groups.
