Die Reihe »Moving Byzantium« veröffentlicht innovative Forschungen zum byzantinischen Mittelalter. Drei Themenbereiche werden besonders betrachtet: Mobilität von Menschen und Objekten, Mobilität von Menschen und Ideen, sowie Kulturelle Mobilität und Soziale Praxis. Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte sind die innere Dynamik der byzantinischen Kultur und Gesellschaft und die Bedeutung von Byzanz im Kontext der mittelalterlichen Welt Afro-Eurasiens. Die Reihe bietet ein Forum für interdisziplinäre Forschungen, insbesondere unter Einbeziehung neuer Ansätze der Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften.
